Sometimes words are priceless… Thanks Sally!Testimony: All is so good. I have to share. First, scaly skin around my eyes has been gone after 2 weeks on your cleansing routine. The left outer corner, in particular, was very inflamed and painful, a condition that I had had off and on for at least 5 years—gone.Because of my adrenal insufficiency, there is lingering red coloration on my eyebrows and lids. This adrenal problem also affects my thyroid. I have seen the redness decrease dramatically and with make-up going on smoothly now, these are non-issues.Using the mask with the exfoliate addition twice a week, and the Revelation Corrective Serum every 2 weeks, is developing a healthier look through more color and less wrinkles. Skin tone is changing dramatically. At 66, I am very happy and encouraged with the results of all AEGEIA products. Thank you so much.**Just an add on—Tuesday I attended a personalized free Clinique make-over. The manager at the Dillards’ Clinique counter stated that my skin was “very, very good”. That is a first for me.

To Moisturize, or Not to Moisturize..Huh?
There Really is No Question
I get it. I understand why everybody is so confused. You hear a million different things from a million different people about skin care. Well, there are a lot of different skin conditions and issues with which to deal, but there are also just some common sense rules. Let’s look…
Body, yes! Skin dry..add moisture. Done. Just be smart about what you’re using on that beautiful body covering you call skin. The key is replacing what your body needs. And what skin needs is water and nutrients, not chemicals and preservatives with names half a label long! Our body’s skin is taken for granted- but we need to protect and nurture it just like we would our facial skin. Oh, and by the way, when you moisturize, you do not have to smell like “Super Cherry Blossom Explosion” or “Kiwi, Melon, Paris Mist Dew Bomb”. (Many times it smells good for a sniff or two, but turns into a nauseating nightmare for those around that have no choice but to smell you, at that point.) Those fragrances, even the more subtle ones, really are hindering the moisturizing properties of the lotion or butter anyway. I personally, would much rather have a small, fresh scent that is derived naturally, so I can just wear my perfume, if I chose, or not smell at all. Try AEGEIA Skin Care Silken Body Conditioning Lotion for light, daily moisturizing. It is so absorbent, you can put it on your legs and then put blue jeans on 5 minutes later. I promise! No stick! It goes directly into the pores. For a deeper hydration, use AEGEIA’s Silken Body Butter. Talk about beautiful!
Now for the bigger issue at hand…Facial Moisturizing. DO IT! I could get on a really long rant, but I will try to keep it short and simple. When you effectively wash your face, you remove dirt, old make-up, oils, debris, etc. Right? Yeah, well there is no way for your skin to tell the difference between that muck and the vital nutrients your skin needs to hold onto. You are stripping your skin of some really great things. You must replace them! Well, only if you want to have clean, fresh, smooth, beautiful skin that doesn’t age well beyond its years! It is called being preventative, folks.
Now, I also understand the reluctance of many to use a facial moisturizer because of their “oily skin type”or “acne-prone” skin. And, the truth is, you won’t need to use much, you may even water down a bit but, again, you have to replace the good stuff that has been removed. Remember: it’s called being preventative.
The trick is not using a moisturizer that will work against you– You do not want any ingredients that will trap or hinder deep oils and debris from coming to the surface and being washed away. (Those ingredients would most likely be synthetic preservatives.) Many synthetic ingredients create thin barriers deep within the skin. That means, good stuff can’t get in down deep and bad stuff can’t get out (unless of course it busts out as an infected blemish or simply returns into the bloodstream as dangerous, damaging toxins). Your skin has to be able to breathe. It’s referred to as cell oxygenation. This enables oxygen to move freely between all the skin layers. Therefore, nutrients can be effectively utilized and things not needed any longer can be properly disposed of instead of turning into a stagnant bacteria magnet. A really light moisturizer- great for daytime- is AEGEIA Daily Hydration Facial Moisturizer.
Nighttime moisturizing is a topic for another day because that is a long one! Whew! But it is oh so important to that beautiful, dewy, young-looking complexion!
My point is, skin is complex, but taking care of it is easy. Clean it, feed it, water it, let it breathe, and allow it to do the rest of the work!
